This is a smaller, but very colorful piece of real Terlingua Calcite for sale. It’s from the Little 38 Mine in Terlingua, Texas. Though smaller, it’s still big enough to fit nearly any display. But it’s also affordable enough to fit nearly any budget. Like all the Terlingua Calcite I’ve handled (well over a ton), it’s a multi-wave fluorescent. It fluoresces in different colors under the different wavelengths of ultraviolet light. The piece fluoresces pink in long wave, purple in mid-wave, and blue in short wave. It also has a striking blue phosporescence or afterglow that lasts several seconds after exposure to either short wave or mid-wave UV.
The piece is mainly two-sided. I’m showing both sides in the positions that were the easiest to display. The piece is not overly thick, so it has to be propped up to sit in the positions shown. The piece measures approximately 3⅝ x 2¾ x 1½ inches and weighs 11.2 ounces.
